Endurance, more than 22 km.

Por fin lo hemos conseguido, después de tanto tiempo, hemos logrado acabar una endurance. Hacía ya un par de años que no conseguíamos recorrer esos 22 km que nos separaban de nuestro tan aclamado trofeo; atravesar la bandera de cuadros. Si bien es cierto que en un comienzo todo apuntaba a que este tercer año no nos iba a ir significativamente mejor a los anteriores, a medida que avanzaban las páginas en el calendario, nuestro pequeño gran proyecto iba tomando forma consistente.
Sin embargo, al llegar al circuito, nos dimos cuenta de que algo no funcionaba correctamente debajo del monocasco de carbono de nuestro monoplaza. Fue en este momento cuando se nos puso la piel de gallina; ¡unos problemas técnicos iban a tirar todo el trabajo de esta temporada por la borda! Era una idea inconcebible que no cabía en la mentalidad de ningún integrante del equipo; ¡no podíamos dejar que un pequeño imprevisto arruinase las miles de horas de trabajo invertidas! Así que con herramientas en una mano y una bebida energética en la otra, nos dispusimos a trabajar toda la noche para cumplir nuestro sueño.
Y así es como logramos lo imposible; terminamos los arreglos, corrimos la endurance y… ¡la terminamos! Gritos de alegría se oían por todo el área de competición, tanto por nuestra parte como por la de los profesores que nos acompañaron en esta gran aventura. Acabamos con la maldición que nos perseguía desde hacía dos años, gracias a la dedicación y esfuerzo de un equipo sin igual. ¡Enhorabuena a todos!

Finally we did it, after all this time, we have at last ended an endurance. It’s been almost two years since the last time we run those 22 km that kept us away from our desired price, to cross the checkered flag. It was right that at the beginning everything seem as this year it was not going to go significantly better than the previous ones, but as the pages of the calendar went forward, our little big project started becoming consistent.
However, when we arrived at the circuit, we realized something was not working properly under the monocoque of our race car. It was in that moment when we got goose bumps; some technical problems were going to throw away all our season work! It was an unthinkable idea that had no place in the mind of any of the team members; we couldn’t let a little unforeseen problem ruin the thousand of hours invested! So, with tolos in one hand and an energy drink in the other, we prepared ourselves to work all night to fulfill our dream.
And it was like that how we achieved the imposible; we fixed the mistakes, we run the endurance and… we finished it! Cries of joy could be heard all across the competition area, from us but also from the lecturers that joined us in this great adventure. We ended with the curse that followed us for nearly two years, thanks to the dedication and effort of a peerless team. Congratulations to everyone!
