Simulator comes to play!
Se dice que el éxito no existe sin el fracaso. Y también es sabido que la “prueba y error” es esencial en la ingeniería. Pero, ¿qué pasaría si fuéramos capaces de saber el resultado sin probarlo? ¿Qué pasaría si fuéramos capaces de prevenir los errores y mejorar nuestros diseños sin ni siquiera testearlos? Es ahí donde entra en juego nuestro simulador, permitiéndonos comprobar la eficiencia de nuestro trabajo aún sin poner el coche en pista.
En diciembre de 2017 la división de simulación de Formula Student Bizkaia se esta poniendo a punto para los nuevos cambios que se introducirán junto al FSB2018. Después de alrededor de dos meses revisando el comportamiento de nuestro ultímo vehículo y estudiando toda la matemática detrás de ello, por fin estamos preparados para empezar a trabajar en nuestro nuevo simulador. Modelar cada parte del coche con un puñado de ecuaciones matemáticas no es trabajo fácil, pero es sin duda un trabajo crucial para diseñar esta herramienta tan versátil. Es por eso que, desde la división de simulación, no dejaremos de trabajar hasta conseguir un preciso modelo virtual de nuestro monoplaza.
It is said that the success does not exist without the failure. And the “try and failure” it’s an essential process in engineering. But what if we could know the result without trying it? What if we could prevent the failure and improve our designs without even testing them? That is where our simulator comes into, allowing us to check the efficiency of our work without having a real car on the track.
In December 2017 the simulation division of Formula Student Bizkaia is getting ready for the new changes introduced with the FSB2018. After nearly two months of reviewing the basic behavior of our latest car and understanding all the math behind of it, we are finally ready to start working in our new simulator. Modeling every single part of the car with a bunch of mathematical equations isn’t an easy task, but it is definitely a crucial work for designing such a versatile tool. That’s the reason why, the simulation division won’t stop working until getting a precise virtual model of our single-seater.
