Demisting the glass

Nuestra ausencia en la competición alemana el último verano nos hace ser de los pocos equipos sin experiencia en su nuevo formato del cost. Habiéndose adaptado la competición inglesa a este formato, tendremos que salir desde el final de la parrilla en Silverstone. Sin los consejos de los jueces, sin saber cómo redactar los documentos, tratamos de mirar a través de la visera empañada de nuestro casco.
En cambio, una vibración en la espalda nos recuerda que lo que nos mueve no ha cambiado. Seguimos teniendo un motor que al igual que nosotros es capaz de trabajar día y noche si es necesario, un chasis tan firme como nuestra mirada a los jueces cuando presentamos y unos neumáticos tan aferrados al asfalto como nosotros al deseo de ganar la prueba. Porque algo que es competitivo seguirá siéndolo en cualquier situación, y jugar en desventaja solo hará que se esfuerce más para conseguir su objetivo.
Sabemos que a medida que investiguemos y la prueba vaya saliendo adelante, la mancha en nuestra visera irá desapareciendo y cuando lo haga del todo más vale que los demás estén preparados, porque no va a haber tiempo para mirar hacia atrás.
Our absence last summer in the German competition makes us one of the few teams without experience in its cost event’s new format. As the British competition has adapted to this format, we will have to begin from the end of the starting grid in Silverstone. Without the advice of the judges, without knowing how to write the documents, we try to see through the misted-up visor of our helmet.
However, a vibration in our back reminds us that what makes us move has not changed. We still have a motor that like us can work day and night if needed, a chassis as solid as our look to the judges during the presentation and four tires so grasped to the road as us to the desire of winning the event. Because something that is competitive will keep been it in every situation, and play at a disadvantage will only make it try it harder to achieve its objective.
We know that as we investigate, and the event starts going ahead, the stain in our visor will start disappearing and when it disappears completely, the others had better be prepared, because there won’t be time to look back.
