Ready to race!!
Tras duros meses de trabajo podemos confirmar que el FSB2018 está listo para rodar y comenzar la fase de pruebas dinámicas, en la que todos los grupos podrán aplicar mejoras para llevar un coche aún más competente a las distintas pruebas que nos enfrentaremos durante el verano.
Por parte de UM (Unsprung Mass), se ha ido verificando que la suspensión, todo el conjunto de corners, dirección, pedalera y frenos cumplan los rigurosos diseños que se hicieron por parte de los integrantes de este grupo y se comporten a la altura de un coche de competición. Todos estos componentes y mecanizados han sido calculados y testados para dar la talla en las diferentes pruebas que nos enfrentemos, dando gracias a las distintas empresas y centros de formación profesional que han hecho posible este gran sueño. Además, contamos con la ambición de querer fabricar el mejor Formula Student, superando al coche con más galardones de nuestro garaje, el FSB2017.
Aún quedan varios ajustes por hacer. Algunos de ellos, dependerán de los resultados de las pruebas. El clima y el tipo de conducción, por ejemplo, afectarán a la rigidez de los muelles, el grosor de la barra estabilizadora o las precargas, entre otros. Aunque por el momento, en el FSB nos gustaría poder hacer adaptaciones técnicas en la suspensión ya que es una de las piezas más importantes del coche.
Una vez verificado y optimizado los ajustes pertinentes se podría decir que el FSB2018 ha llegado para llevarse la fama y el protagonismo de todo el Paddock.
Finally, after hard months of work, we can confirm with pride that the FSB2018 is ready to roll and start the dynamic testing phase, in which all groups can apply improvements to bring an even more competent car and overcome the different tests that we will have to face during the summer.
The UM (Unsprung Mass) have already verified that the suspension, the whole set of corners, direction, pedalboard and brakes comply with the rigorous designs that were made by the members of this group and behave at the height of a competition car. All these components and mechanized have been calculated and tested to be good enough in the different tests that we will face. In addition, we have the aspiration to build the best Formula Student, overtake the car from last year (FSB2017); something complicated considering that it is the car with more awards in our garage.
There are still several adjustments to be made. Some of them will depend on the results of the tests. The climate and the type of driving, for example, will affect the rigidity of the springs, the thickness of the stabilizer bar or the preloads, among others. Although for the moment, in the Formula Student we would like to make technical adaptations in the suspension since it is one of the most important pieces of the car.
When all the relevant adjustments are verified and optimized, the FSB2018 will make noise, taking away the fame and prominence of the entire Paddock.
