First step towards FSB2019 racing car
Con la vuelta del equipo del circuito de Montmeló, se dio por concluida la temporada 2018. Lo cual no significó que se hubiera acabado el trabajo, sino que el equipo ya se puso en marcha para empezar a diseñar el monoplaza con el que se competirá en 2019.
Para comenzar a diseñar, lo primero que se hizo fue un análisis de lo ocurrido en las visitas a los circuitos de Silverstone y Montmeló. Una vez hecho el balance de lo positivo y negativo, cada grupo diseñó y optimizó nuevas piezas o componentes para el futuro coche de carreras. Todos los compañeros fueron exponiendo su trabajo ante el resto del equipo en diferentes reuniones que se alargaron en ocasiones más de lo previsto.
En dichas reuniones se comentaron posibles interferencias entre grupos y resultaron útiles para aunar las ideas de todos. Aunque a veces es duro renunciar a algún diseño propio, el equipo sabe que lo ideal es conseguir una solución óptima entre todos para que el FSB2019 sea lo mejor posible. Y si algo se aprende en esta competición, desde luego es a trabajar en equipo.
A falta de unos detalles mínimos a concretar, se podría decir que la fase de diseños ya ha finalizado, lo cual es un orgullo enorme. Ahora da comienzo una etapa diferente donde habrá otro tipo de retos, como la fabricación de piezas u obtención de materiales, herramientas y máquinas necesarias.
After the team’s comeback from the Circuit of Montmeló, season 2018 could be taken as finished. That didn’t mean the team run out stuff to do, but that the team got going with the design of the single-seater that will compete in 2019.
In order to get started on the design, the first step that was taken was doing an analysis of what had happened on the Silverstone and Montmeló circuits. Once the balance between the positive and the negative aspects had been done, each group designed and optimized new parts or components for the future racing car. All teammates exposed in some different meetings in front of the full team the job they had been previously doing.
Those meetings were at times longer than the expected but turned out to be quite helpful since potential interferences between groups were pointed out, and only after that was it possible to bring everyone’s ideas together. Although it can be hard to give up to any own design, the team knows the aim is to reach an optimal solution among all team members to make the FSB2019 the best possible. And if there is something that is learnt is this competition, that surely is teamworking.
In the lack of some slight detail to be specified, it could be said that the design phase has already finished, which is a great pride. Now a new phase begins, a phase in which the team will face other kind of challenges, such as the manufacture of some parts of the car or the purchase of materials, tools and machines required.
