COOLING IMPROVEMENT
This season, the FSB2021 is full of innovations but today we will focus on the cooling jacket.
The cooling jacket is an element of the cooling system that keeps the engine at the right temperature. If the engine is not cooled properly, its performance decreases significantly above a certain temperature. The engines usually have a default cooling system. However, the members of the aerodynamics group are always looking for new challenges, and this time they have decided to design and manufacture one of their own.
Its aim is undoubtedly to improve the performance of certain elements of the FSB2021, so the part has been simulated taking into account the extreme conditions that the engine could hit. If these conditions were to occur, we would be prepared, since after simulations, calculations and changes a satisfactory design has been achieved.
A few weeks ago, we obtained a cooling jacket with the 3D printer (thanks to our sponsor 3DZ). This part has to be mounted tightly and to verify this we decided to assemble a turned cylinder with the diameter of the engine. Later water was poured in to see if there were any leaks but no drop was spilled.
At the moment we are happy in general with the outcome, as for the first attempt it turned out quite well. However, we are not going to remain with the first result obtained because there is always room for improvement, that's why we have to make small modifications to be 100% satisfied and obtain a complete and ready to assemble cooling jacket.

Las novedades que traemos de cara al FS2021 no son pocas ¡hay de todo! Hoy nos centraremos en una pieza: el cooling jacket.
El cooling jacket es un elemento del circuito de la refrigeración que se encarga de mantener a una temperatura adecuada el motor. Si el motor no se refrigera correctamente, a partir de una cierta temperatura el rendimiento disminuye notablemente.
Normalmente los motores vienen con uno ya de fábrica, sin embargo, los miembros del grupo de aerodinámica siempre están buscando nuevos retos, en esta ocasión, han decidido diseñar y fabricar uno propio.
Su objetivo sin duda es mejorar el rendimiento de ciertos elementos del FS2021, por eso, se ha simulado la pieza teniendo en cuenta las condiciones extremas a las que podría alcanzar el motor. En caso de que esas condiciones se dieran, estaríamos preparados, ya que después de simulaciones, cálculos y cambios se ha llegado a un diseño satisfactorio.
Hace unas semanas con una impresora 3D de nuestro patrocinador 3DZ, obtuvimos nuestro primer cooling jacket. Esta pieza tiene que ir montada con apriete y para verificarlo decidimos utilizar un cilindro torneado con el diámetro del motor. Posteriormente se vertió agua para ver si había fugas y el resultado fue que no se derramó ni una gota.
De momento estamos contentos en general con el resultado, ya que para haber sido el primer intento ha salido bastante bien. Sin embargo, no nos vamos a quedar con el primer resultado obtenido, siempre se puede mejorar, es por eso que tenemos que hacer pequeñas modificaciones para estar satisfechos al 100% y obtener un cooling jacket completo y listo para montar.

FSB2021 kotxearentzat hobekuntza pila bat ekarri ditugu. Gaur, Cooling Jacketari buruz hitz egingo dugu.
Cooling Jacketa hozketa sistemaren atal bat da, motorra tenperatura egoki batean mantentzen saiatzen duena. Helburu, hau lortzen ez bada, tenperatura batera heltzen denean motorra egoki funtzionatzen uztea da.
Normalean, motore bakoitza Cooling Jacket batekin saltzen da, baina aerodinamikako kideak, beti bezala, gauza berriak egiten saiatzen dira, eta hau diseinatzea erabaki dute. Honen helburua FSB2021ren etekina hobetzea da, zalantzarik gabe. Horretarako, pieza hau baldintza txarrenekin simulatu da. Horrelako baldintzak izatekotan, Cooling Jacketa ondo funtzionatuko luke, horretarako diseinatu dugulako.
