Formula Student Bizkaia Hosts a Unique Roll Out Event: Unveiling the FSB2024 in a Late-Night Show Format that Surprises and Engages Over 400 Attendees.
Formula Student Bizkaia is not only characterised by the fact that we produce a Formula-style single-seater every year, but also by the fact that the team is constantly active in events. These can be events organised by third parties or by ourselves. A clear example of the latter is the Roll Out, the event for the presentation of the new single seater. It's true that it has little in common with a typical launch event.
The purpose of the event, which is to unveil the car that will be competing for the first time this summer, lasts about an hour, during which we try to keep the audience enthralled. Long and monotonous speeches can be very boring; that's why Formula Student Bizkaia opts for a more visual type of event. But we always have a clear goal: the event is by and for the team members.
Keeping these principles in mind, after long months of preparation for the event, we decided to simulate a late night show called "El Box", referring to the workspace where the team members spend their hours. During the show, a wide range of topics directly related to the team were presented. Live experiments were also performed to the delight of the audience. The Bizkaia Aretoa was packed with over 400 people, including institutions, sponsors, family and friends, who were impressed with the staging of the event.
But all good things take time, and it was only at the end that the FSB2024 was unveiled with a surprise. Everyone expected the single-seater to be under the tarpaulin that accompanied the show, but nothing could be further from the truth, as underneath the tarpaulin was the Driverless Department's test bench, which was used to explain the achievements of this group of Formula Student Bizkaia.
Nobody expected this ending, let alone that FSB2024 was waiting outside the theatre for a demonstration to end an unforgettable afternoon.
