From its inception, Formula Student Bizkaia treated the gender perspective as one of the pillars that would underpin the development of the project. One of the sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda, which in turn worked in conjunction with all aspects of the team.
All this work, development and dedication has recently been rewarded, having won second place in the category "STEAM Education Initiatives promoted by universities and vocational training centres" of the prestigious Euskadi STEAM Sariak Awards.
The aim of these awards is to recognise the work of different entities in the field of scientific and technological innovation aimed at young people, especially women.
STEAM Education integrates these disciplines so that students improve their training in science and technology and are able to participate in the transformation of their environment and respond to the challenges it poses.
From the team, we are truly honoured and gratified by this special recognition. We have seen how all the effort, dedication and passion in scientific dissemination has been valued and put on the air. We feel part of something else, of the generation of talent of young students in the Basque Country, something that we believe is of utmost importance.
